FAQ

Q: CREDIT CARD VERIFICATION IF CARDHOLDER IS UNABLE TO PICK UP PUPPY

A: UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE HAD PEOPLE USING OTHER PEOPLES CREDIT CARDS TO PURCHASE DOGS. WE NOW ARE REQUIRING A PICTURE OF CARDHOLDER HOLDING PHOTO ID NEXT TO THEIR FACE TO VERIFY THAT THEY ARE WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE. WE ALSO WILL REQUIRE PICTURE OF CREDIT CARD (YOU CAN COVER UP ALL DIGITS BUT LAST 4) IF FACETIME IS EASIER WE WILL ALSO ALLOW FOR VERIFICATION IN THAT MANNER

Q: How is the puppy SHIPPED?

A: We believe in arriving in style everytime. We pay extra for a VIP contract with Delta Airlines. They are kept in climate--controlled environments under the plane belly (72 degrees) & also in the airport transport vans (78 degrees). The following is the link to the addresses (by State) for Delta Airline Cargo Facilities: http://www.delta.com/business_programs_services/delta_cargo/facilities/us_facilities/index.jsp

Q: Is everything SECURE on this site?

A: Yes. We have a completely secured site & your information is never shared. We use the same securities as BEST BUY & other major companies in the U.S. Everything is locked down like Fort Knox. Check our customer referral section of our site for previous customer testimonials on the buying process. (Some past customers include their email and/or phone number if you would so desire to contact them directly with any questions).

Q: What happens if my puppy's FLIGHT is DELAYED?

A: **Important: We have no control over the flight status!!! Keep in mind; we do not work for the airport. We do everything in our power to make sure your puppy is where it should be on the day we book it. Although, it's rare... we have no control over delayed flights & cancelled flights due to weather. A delayed flight does not mean your puppy is not coming! It's the same as when people fly! Sometimes the flights are late, but they still arrive. Please don't accuse Delta of stealing puppies or call us and say we're a SCAM off of a delayed flight. It's a bit insulting. The puppy's health is our number one priority! The airlines will not fly puppies with certain temperatures. This is about the puppy & it's health and NOT YOUR SCHEDULE or OURS!! As always, you will have the tracking number & flight number to know exactly where your puppy is once he or she on the plane. It's always a good idea to check the Flight status before leaving your home (as we provide the link in the Flight Info Email)

Where do you get your dogs? Do you get pups from MILLS?

A: We work with numerous breeders in the Tri-State area. Currently about 200. We do NOT work with Puppy Mills & cannot ever accept the fact Puppy Mills exist! They are a black eye on the face of this industry. We strive for perfection & will not accept anything less. We would not be able to offer warranties on in-bred or poorly bred puppies. We would be out of business very quickly. Many times, we have gone to see a potential breeder's operation & immediately walked out because we did not agree with their mode of operation. WE WILL NOT WORK WITH UNLOVING, UNCARING HEARTLESS PEOPLE! We only work with high quality kennels & breeders. People who care. THe reason our prices are lower than most is because we make our profits on the shipping. If a puppy is not shipped, we have to charge a $50 pickup fee to cover costs. We strive to provide the highest quality pup & are adamant about maintaining quality & integrity. Our business cannot survive without providing you the highest quality of puppy, so we are working for you!

Q: Why are the puppies different PRICES?

A: There are many of different variables used to price our puppies. Male vs Female. Breeder price. Size of puppy, Look of puppy, etc. It's a difficult formula we use to price a pup, but has nothing to do with HEALTH! IMPORTANT: Every one of our puppies has a certified health check from a Veterinarian. Each one is 100% healthy & has no affect on price. Females typically are more desired, so they will usually be a bit higher in price.

Q: Is my puppy going to be PLAYFUL? What's the best puppy for my CHILDREN?

A: All of our puppies are playful. Those words are a bit synonymous... PUPPY = PLAYFUL. Vice versa. We don't sell any puppies that don't fit the definition. Any & all breeds we carry are going to be good for children. We would never offer any dog or breed of dog known for it's bad temperament. Rest assured all our puppies play well with children & are well socialized to be around all ages.

Q: How do I know this site is not a scam?

Q: What do we do to ensure you are getting a home raised healthy puppy?

A: 1. ALL breeders are USDA Certified & Inspected 2. Breeders must have puppies vet checked and current on all shots 3. Puppies parents must be current on vaccines, health checked and free of any congenital defects. 4. Facilities must be kept in clean form and available for inspection at any time. 5. All puppies must be de-wormed every two weeks 6. All puppies must be home-raised with tender loving care. 7. All breeders must have 5+ years experience before we sell their first litter.

Q: How do I know which puppies are available for purchase?

A: Before calling us to read off puppy names on the site to ask availability, please read below: All our available puppies are listed on our site & all the information is correct. If you see their picture (and the contacts us button next to it )--they're available. Because of high traffic levels & schedule of the person who maintains the site... sometimes a listing can remain on the site after you've made a deposit. Rest assured, if you have a receipt in your email--THAT PUPPY IS YOURS! We've been in business for a quite a while & it's extremely important to us you get the puppy you rightfully purchased.

Q: What size will my puppy be as an adult?

A: All puppies listed on our site have an approximate RANGE of weight they should stay within. We arrive at each range through a formula of different variables (i.e. parents' size, breed parameters, weight of pup at 10 weeks, etc). In addition, occasionally we offer a weight guarantee on a specific pup. This guarantee can be found directly on the pup's listing with the specific weight it is guaranteed to stay under. Guarantees usually stem from parents who have proven to have small offspring on a consistent basis. If you are concerned with adult size & its pivotal to your puppy choice, please look for a specific & guaranteed weight. On all other pups, we use an approximate range. These are "guesstimates"...as no one knows for SURE adult weights before the puppy grows to maturity. No Breeder in the US (or this world) can be 100% certain of an exact adult weight. They can guess. We feel we do a GREAT job of reflecting accurate approximates...as our numbers show we are always close. Please allow us a bit of slack for margin of error. We are human just like you :)

Q: What does the "WEIGHT GUARANTEE" consist of?

A: Example of Guarantee: We guarantee the puppy you have purchased to stay under 5 lbs under healthy and normal circumstances! If the puppy grows over 5 lbs, we will allow you to return the puppy and receive a refund for the amount of the puppy you purchased (not including shipping). The puppy must be returned in the condition you received it meaning no alterations such a spading or neutering. If any alterations have been made to your puppy the guarantee is void! If puppy has been shipped, the return shipping for the puppy must be covered by you the customer. (We are able to set up flights at a discounted rate--do not worry)

Q: Is there such thing as a TEACUP PUPPY? TEACUP STANDARDS?

A: HEAVENS NO! Teacup is a DESCRIPTIVE word, please do not ever believe someone who's telling you there's breed requirements to be a TEACUP. They're lying. On our site, we use the word TEACUP to DESCRIBE a tiny dog. There are websites dedicated to tarnishing Teacups & their health. Those websites are incorrect. For us, Teacup = tiny. If a larger pup has a smaller littermate, but it checks out 100% healthy by our vet every week....is it sick? No. Will it get sick? No. Can it live just as long or longer than its littermate? YOU BET YA! You can have healthy pups which are larger as well has healthy pups which are smaller. We will not list a pup on our site unless it passes EVERY VET CHECK with flying colors & meets our standards of quality. We have warranties in place for a reason...we stand behind our quality checks! If we were in the practice of selling sick puppies--our customer referrals section would be small & we'd be out of business by now! Both of which are false. For each breed, there are many words to describe them (teacup, toy, miniature, etc). You can also use descriptive words like "loving"...."playful"...."rowdy".... but there's no requirements to be a "PLAYFUL YORKIE". It's up to your discretion. As a rule of thumb, for Yorkshire Terriers, we'll use Teacup for anything charted to be 5.5 lbs or under full grown. In the canine world, we think that's a tiny dog... we hope you'd agree. But everyone will have a different opinion on what a Teacup is.

Q: I've noticed a little cough/sneeze in my puppy--what do I do?

A: Usually vets misdiagnose this! Depending on symptoms antibiotics may not even be necessary. Look to see if your puppy has green discharge or is lethargic, if not it is usually just irritation from the change of environment. They usually prescribe CLAVOMOX which is virtually ineffective according to numerous recent studies. Not only do the studies show this but we have had first hand experience with customers who say it was no help at all. If your vet does not like the idea of you using a Nebulizer we suggest asking for Azithromycin (Zithromax), Doxicillan or Cephalexin as it seems to have much better results. For best results, please rent a Nebulizer ($75 deposit--once returned--we credit your card back!). Click RENT NEBULIZER from the Warranty page of our website.

Q: Something is WRONG with my puppy's HEALTH--who do I call?

A: USE DOCTORPUP.COM FOR NON EMERGENCY CONCERNS! Please call 614 584-1978 IMMEDIATELY! If you panic & take your puppy into a Emergency Vet Hospital you assume all costs! Sometimes we can provide a SIMPLE remedy to a situation which could costs hundreds (even thousands) at a Vet. We have seen a good amount of pups in our 7 years, so please use our FREE KNOWLEDGE by calling us immediately! We do not cover emergency vet bills because of a hasty decision to rush your puppy to Emergency Care! (If you buy a car, take it home, and it starts making strange noises.... you wouldn't rush it down to the local mechanic & watch him take everything apart & charge you 5,000$ to do it! You'd call the people you just bought the car from! Same situation applies here! CALL US! ) Early detection is key (just as in human) to preventing an avoidable situation going very bad.

Q: Any recommendations on which VET to use?

A: Usually small-town vets are best. Word gets around small towns very quickly & if a vet has bad practices... small towns will talk :) Usually (not always) small town vets are more inexpensive as well. Try a site like www.Yelp.com to search for a vet in your area & see reviews of consumers in your area as well. **IMPORTANT** DO NOT USE BANFIELD HOSPITALS (AS PART OF PETS MART CHAIN STORES) NOR VCA HOSPITALS. Your warranty will be void if your take your new one to Banfield or VCA. We've seen too many misdiagnosis, over medicated, & EXTREMELY HIGH VET BILLS. These two clinics are in it for the money!

Q: Do you have ALL the puppies there? Can I see them all?

A: Yes. All puppies listed on our site are here at the house in Johnstown, OH (suburb of Columbus). They must pass a 20 point checklist & numerous vet checks before they're listed on the site. We are not really a pet store (and proud of this fact). We do not have glass cages & we're not a petting zoo. We are sticklers when it comes to the health of these little ones. We require all customers to sanitize when they come to the house. We'd be happy to take your call & set a a private appointment for you & your family to come to our house and see up to three (3) pups per visit. We put the health of these little ones first & foremost. That's always been our motto! Thanks for understanding.

Q: VACCINES?

A: DO NOT GIVE YOUR NEW PUPPY ANY VACCINES WITHIN THE FIRST 14 DAYS OF ARRIVAL. YOUR NEW PUPPY IS ALL UP TO DATE ON SHOTS AND WILL NOT NEED A VACCINE FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS. MANY VETS WILL ATTEMPT TO ISSUE A VACCINE SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE ADDITIONAL MONEY. DO NOT GET ANY VACCINES ON YOUR FIRST VET VISIT AS THE PUPPY WILL NEED TIME TO ADJUST AND YOU DO NOT NEED ANY ADDITIONAL STRESS ON HIM OR HER!!!

Q: My Puppy won't eat? ANYTHING I can do?

A: Of course. There are many options. Puppies are like babies. They need nutrition every 2 to 3 hours. However, they don't cry like babies so you must be even MORE proactive with puppies. Small breeds are much different than larger breeds. Labradors & Rottweiler puppies are very different than a 1 lbs Yorkie puppy. You must hand the small breed puppies differently. You should always allow your puppy access to their hard food. 24/7 they should be able to eat hard food at their leisure. Over-eating is rare amongst small breeds & won't happen until a year or so of life (if at all). During puppy stages--feed, feed, feed! Puppy weight is good weight & a full belly means a happy puppy. In addition to their hard food, the following items are recommended to encourage eating: (rotisserie chicken (human style), Dannon Activia Yogurt, Puppy Caesers Soft Food, Raw Ground Beef (yes, Raw), Honey & Caro Syrup are sometimes used on hard food to entice the puppy to eat as well. Think about it like this... before there was "puppy food" you could buy at the local mart...How did puppies survive? This should help you when choosing the best food to feed your little one. Small Breed puppies sometimes lack appetite due to a change in environment. A puppy can be on hard food for 3 weeks and doing fine...if you change the puppy's habitat... they might begin fresh with their eating habits. The encouragement you give them during the transition is NOT CAUSING BAD HABITS. Table food/scraps is not what we're recommending. We are recommending a high protein diet & these items suggested are what we've found to work flawlessly.

Q: I am driving from far away, can you HOLD THE PUPPY FOR ME?

A: Yes. It's simple. The Hold BUTTON on our site allows you to place a $200, non-refundable hold on your puppy. The $200 comes OFF the final balance. The reason your deposit is NON-refundable is to filter out the non-serious customers. We advertise aggressively... so when a deposit is made, the particular puppy is REMOVED from our 30+ advertising sites. If the customer changes his/her mind & doesn't want the puppy anymore, we must RE-LIST the puppy on those sites-- which is very expensive. **IMPORTANT** If there is a SPECIFIC puppy you want, but you do NOT want to put a hold down and you start to drive--that is your choice! If the puppy is purchased online ANYTIME PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL (yes, even 5 minutes) there is NOTHING WE CAN DO! This is the nature of things. It's the same with cars, boats, clothes, phones, etc.... whoever puts the money down first...gets the puppy.

Q: I'm confused on the DESIGNER CROSS puppies, What are they?

A: Designer Crosses have become very popular in recent years (even the President invited a canine cross into the Whitehouse). All our crosses or hybrids are F1 (meaning the parents are 100% full blooded-- producing 50/50 offspring. For instance, a MORKIE....is from a 100% Yorkie Father & 100% Maltese Mother. Those puppies are called Morkies. The following are most of the hybrids we sell: (Malti-Poo = Maltese & Toy Poodle, Malti-Pom = Maltese & Pomeranian, Shorkie = ShihTzu & Yorkie, CavaPoo = Cavalier Spaniel & Toy Poodle, Cava-Chon = Cavalier Spaniel & Bichon Frise, YorkiePoo = Yorkie & Toy Poodle, TeddyBear = ShihTzu & Bichon/or Maltese, Chorkie = Chihuahua & Yorkie, etc) The link below is a nice site with information on designer crosses: [http://animal.discovery.com/videos/dogs-101-designer-dogs/]

Q: ANY SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR PUPPIES UNDER 2 LBS?

A: EVERY PUP UNDER 2LBS ESPECIALLY YORKIES AND MALTESE NEED 1CC OF KARO EVERY 2-4 HOURS Baby Food – This is used right after arrival for the puppy. After that, we really want the puppy going to the dry food. If we have to resort to giving baby food, we need to give at least one FULL syringe of babyfood every hour. This includes feeding at night. Lets say you go to bed at 11PM or midnight…you need to set your alarm for 3AM-4AM, give 2-3 syringes of babyfood. And do the the same thing at 6AM. If you have to resort to this feeding, please call us. Depending on the size of your dog, the feeding could be different. Karo – (Corn syrup) This is to help the puppy blood sugar level. If at anytime the puppy appears sluggish or lethargic, giving karo will help but its not the only measure you will take. Call us at anytime if this happens. When a couple pound puppy runs around for 20 minutes, that is the same as us running 4-5 miles full speed not stopping. They are exerting A LOT of energy and unless they are eating properly, they will have a sugar crash. To help offset the puppy activity, small puppies need to have 1cc of karo every 2-4 hours in addition to eating. Until the puppy is eating 20-30 pieces of dry food every 2-4 hours, karo needs to stay in their diet. You can even mix Karo in their water.

Q: WHAT DO I NEED TO HAVE ON HAND TO BE PREPARED FOR MY NEW PUPPY?

YOU MAY USE THE REMAINER OF THE YOGURT THROUGH OUT THE NEXT FEW DAYS TO HELP THE PUPPY ADJUST! PLEASE GET 1 CAN CEASERS PUPPY (PINK LABEL) AS WELL AS ROTISSARY CHICKEN! THESE THREE ITEMS WILL HELP THE PUPPY EAT AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVE WHICH IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT! THE CHICKEN NEEDS TO BE WARM AND MOIST AND THE PUPPY SHOULD EAT IT RIGHT UP!!! ROYAL CANINE PUPPY #33 IS THE HARD FOOD THAT YOU RECEIVED WITH THE PUPPY. ***IF YOUR PUPPY WEIGHS LESS THAN 2LBS PLEASE GET KARO SYRUP (CLEAR ONLY) AND GIVE THE PUPPY 1CC EVERY 2-4 HOURS FOR AT LEAST 2 WEEKS AFTER ARRIVAL*** Failure to follow all of the above directions in red voids any guarantee we offer!!! Please follow these directions if you are not comfortable with following these directions or think you know better please contact us ASAP.
